What is Whitechain?
Whitechain is an EVM-compatible Layer 2 blockchain built on the OP Stack. It settles on Ethereum via blob data availability, is integrated into the WhiteBIT ecosystem, and uses WBT (WhiteBIT Coin) as the native gas token. As an OP Stack L2, Whitechain inherits Ethereum’s security guarantees while dramatically reducing transaction costs and latency for both end users and developers. The chain maintains full EVM compatibility, so any contract or toolchain that works on Ethereum works on Whitechain without modification. Key technical details for developers:- 1-second block time.
- Flashblocks enabled (100–200 ms).
- Transaction fees as low as $0.001.
- Fees paid in $WBT, the native asset of Whitechain with utility across the WhiteBIT ecosystem.
- The L2 architecture nets sequencer margins against Ethereum blob costs, keeping fees structurally low even at scale.
Why build on Whitechain?
Key reasons for web3 builders to consider Whitechain:- Integration with the WhiteBIT ecosystem and exposure to more than 4 million users worldwide.
- Full EVM compatibility — deploy Solidity smart contracts with any EVM toolchain out of the box.
- Fast transaction execution.
- Low fees.
- Ethereum-secured settlement.
- First-party products available from day one: Whitechain Portal (bridge), WhiteSwap (DEX), and Explorer.
